High Efficiency IT Cooling System
The ECHO High Efficiency IT Cooling System is designed to emulate IT equipment heat rejection with equal quantity and characteristics of cooling. In doing so, it increases the quantity of free-cooling available when compared to traditional free-cooling systems.
Partial free-cooling can be achieved for 95% of the year and full free-cooling for over 50% of the year. The graph below shows the ambient profile for London, where the ECHO system enables free-cooling even with ambient temperatures up to 21°C.
Free-cooling is achieved indirectly, which means that there is no introduction of air from outside. This avoids a far higher degree of filtration, humidification, plus a full mechanical cooling installation for times of peak load. So we keep operating costs to a minimum and reduce indirect carbon impact.
In comparison to a standard downflow system, the energy reduction is approx. 67% and in comparison with a standard free-cool system the energy saving is approx 46%.
